“Even Vampires Bleed” came at the exact right moment for my soul—a little bruised, a little tired, craving something dark, bloody, but still achingly human. Emeline writes with soft heart and tenderness, mixing slow-burn romance with sharp emotion in a way that made me feel like I was both bleeding and being stitched back together.

Sometimes a book doesn’t just entertain—it haunts you a little. This one did.
Synopsis
Even Vampires Bleed is the second book in Even Ever After Series (First one is Even Angels Fall, you can read my review here.). The book is following after the events of book one, but you will get a short summary at the beginning so if you did not read the first in the series it will not hurt your reading experience too much. In this one we are following the romance of Cassiope and Leandre. Cassiope is a bat-shifter (commonly known as Vampire 🧛♀️) and even though her personality is sunshine, she is out for blood in this book. Bird shifters that are parading as Angels before humans stolen everything from her. Her father is on the operating table because of them, the man she was falling for has chip in his head that can change everything. If you are ready for heartbreak, let’s go!
Thoughts
What can I say? I am a sucker for good shifter romance and even though the beginning was a little slower (probably because of the recap from book one) I devoured this one as easily as the first one.
Broken Heart
🖤 Leandre broke my heart without meaning to… His soft support and bright personality made me swoon in the best way.
💔 Cassie… Oh, Cassie… I felt for her so much… she made me cry so many times. I cannot share much without spoiling it.
And when they crash together? It’s not soft. It’s not easy. Not only that, but it hurts. But damn if it isn’t worth it.
Plot Notes
There were moments I wanted more… more depth, more time to sit in the pain before the plot moved. But that’s also why I loved it—it didn’t coddle me. It let me feel. Let me cry. Let me earn my ending.
Finale
I won’t spoil anything, but just know: if you’re in the mood for a love story with bite, with blood, with beautiful monsters and emotional wounds that don’t magically disappear, this might be your next escape.
Read it on a day when your heart feels a little too full and your mind needs a place to run.
Because yeah—even vampires bleed.
And sometimes… so do we.
