Have you ever read a book and, after the first page, thought, “Okay, I don’t know this author, but sure as hell she knows me“?
That is exactly how Even Robots Die by E.V. Sauvage made me feel – Seen.
So buckle up, because baby, we are going for a ride.

“I know you and I know the value you put into your work, so no, I don’t need reassurance, but even if I did, your feelings are valid, too. You are allowed to panic, to cry, or to crumble without it overshadowing me or my feelings. It’s okay to not feel okay. You don’t have to hide it with me.”
Synopsis
Even Robots Die is the third book in the Even Ever After series. It could be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series so you have better context on the plot (there is also a short novella, but it has no impact on the story). In this book, we are following bat shifter Brice and human girl Florentine, or Miss F. as she is normally referred to. Florentine is the oldest daughter who is taking care of her sister and her piece of sh… something father, who has a liiiiitttle gambling problem.. As little as that he cannot take care of his family. Brice is a bat shifter whose brain was fried by evil birdshifters parading as angels, and he needs our little human genius, Florentine, to fix him. But he did not expect to get fixed in more than one way.
Thoughts
What can I say to you? From the first moment I read about Miss F. in book one, I was interested in her story. Red head that is good with gears and PCs? She seemed like my kind of gal. But I did not expect emotional turmoil and ass called out multiple times through this book. I expected a fun adventure that would fill my romance cup like the previous one in the series. But instead, I was served some of my own emotional traumas served me back like “Here, honey, listen to someone else who can place your pain in the words”. Don’t get me wrong. This book is fun and full of steamy romance. But the background of Florentine her internal thoughts was so similar to mine that I was shocked. I cried multiple times through the book because her emotional healing was also mine. As you can probably say by now, I deeply felt this book and love it so much, I think I will recommend it as therapy to every oldest golden daughter I know.
Ashole that will take care of you
I must say, Brice is my new number 1 book Daddy. He is such an asshole first part of book ( and you cannot tell me that it is because his brain was fried I believe he is the same as my husband and enjoy making her mad too much 😉😅) but he still takes care of Florentine when nobody else cared ( Yes his similarity to my husband are obvious, I am biased sue me 🤣) I think every women should have someone who will show her mirror when she is acting up but takes care of her without taking it personally.
IT Queen with a lot on her plate
Florentine is my bookish soulmate woman, She is my better self and I will treasure her story for my whole life. Never ever have I met a book that felt so personal for me, even thou this is a fantasy romance. So what can I say? Miss F and Milton became my Roman empire and I will not shut up about this book. Sorry to all of my bookish friends. I am not sorry. Emeline broke me to pieces with how she wrote the Florentine story, her persona, her background, her family… But with Brice, she mended my heart and reminded me that what we really need is only one right person.
Banter, spice, and food
Emeline as always wrote some great banter in this book, I was cackling like a crow at some parts and weeping at other sweet moments, I am pretty sure I am going to need to go to France to try their pastry because I was so hungry because of the description of deserts in book😅Also this one was most delicious slow burn, I read in a long time. And when they sparked…. they went full fireworks😉
Spoilers
I will not spoil anything this time just tell you that even thou something should have been obvious to me from the beginning this book was so good that I missed it and was so flabbergasted by it at the end that I needed a minute to unscrew my brain how I did not expect that.
Even Robots Die by E. V. Sauvage
is a great fit for every lover of futuristic romantasy that loves good banter, little action, and great slow burn.
Read this book if you want laughter, longing, and a story that feels like a wrench to the gut—in the best way. Oldest daughters, this one’s for us.
