It is Mermaid month and what better to read as quick spicy novella about WHALE SHARK MERMAID! Yes, you hear right. Even Mermaids Drown by E.V. Sauvage is containing unexpected love story. She is whale shark shifter, and he is bear shifter. What an unexpected pair?
“At least I won’t be awake when the shark eats me.
I don’t think it’s ever eaten something so hairy, though.”
I laugh to myself with that last thought, and then everything goes dark. Goodbye life.
Synopsis
This is a short novella, revealing story of Elis from Even Vampires Bleed. We are following the love story of Elis and Sequana as they struggle to find each other.
Thoughts
This was exactly the fast read I needed. I was heading to reading slump and did not felt like reading anything lengthy and this fast spicy adventure of Elis and Sequana pulled me out.
Big brooding teddy bear
Elis is just a big teddy bear (pun intended). I loved that Emeline gave Elis his own story. I loved him in Even Vampires Bleed, and seeing his backstory and HEA was really satisfying.
Unexpected twist on mermaid
I am pretty sure I never read about whale shark shifter. Sequana got my heart from the first page. She is bold queen of sea and I will not hear any complaints about her questionable decisions regarding what to do with intruders! 😏
Spice? Yes, please!
What will I tell you this is short novella so we cannot exact story as big as in book. So spice can feel a little overwhelming in comparison to story. But I didn’t have that feeling. I think it nicely complimented the story without being too pushed out, but I understand that slow burn people might have felt different.
Even Mermaids Drown by E. V. Sauvage is a fast-paced short novella that is perfectly fitting little puzzle in Even After Series. I would recommend anyone who loves them fast romance with MMC and FMC fall for each other fast ☺️You will read it in one sitting.
